The latest technology, the best components, and an unrivalled riding experience. The FE 450 Heritage model offers it all. Producing a broad spread of controllable power, the engine has been designed to position all shaft arrangements at the ideal centre of gravity for exceptional manoeuvrability. Aiding this agile feel is the chassis, which is manufactured using advanced engineering techniques to be perfectly balanced for a less fatiguing ride. Together with WP XACT suspension, enhanced comfort across rough terrain is assured. Complete with modern electronics and high-quality components, the FE 450 is finished with distinctive graphics exclusive to the Heritage model range.
Engine
Advanced engineering techniques are used to build the engine to ensure maximum performance. It is then positioned in the frame to assist with the anti-squat behavior from the chassis while also helping to centralize mass. Lightweight at just 29 kg, the 450 cc 4-stroke engine is also powerful with an impressive power output.
Cylinder Head
The SOHC cylinder head is incredibly compact and lightweight with the camshaft positioned as close to the center of gravity as possible. A durable, fine-punched cam chain and Diamond-like Carbon (DLC) coated rocker arm offer optimal efficiency and reliability with a single oil spray jet providing effective cooling. Valve timings are optimized for maximum torque and smooth power delivery.
Exhaust
The exhaust system is expertly designed to deliver class-leading performances at the lowest possible weight with the header pipe manufactured in tow pieces. This design allows the header pipe to be taken off of the machine without needing to remove the rear shock. Further innovation allows for a short, compact silencer without increasing sound levels. The silencer is crafted from lightweight aluminum and stylishly finished with a black coating to highlight its premium quality.
Fuel Tank
S8.0 liters fuel tank integrates neatly with the ergonomic bodywork and features a robust rubber cushion beneath it to hold the tank in place and protect the frame from wear. The one-piece fuel pump design and integrated filter allows the tank to be emptied further, which is particularly beneficial during longer events. For durability, the external fuel line is specifically routed to make it less exposed and susceptible to damage.
Bodywork
The bodywork is designed to allow riders to perform at their best for extended periods of time. A flat seat profile offers unrestricted movement. Above the side panels, recessed pockets allow for the machine to be lifted and moved, which is particularly beneficial for those competing in extreme Enduro events.
Handlebar
With a bar bend designed for maximum comfort, the Pro Taper handlebars also offer class-leading function and style. Manufactured to exacting standards, the braceless handlebar reduces rider fatigue and is complete with scratch and peel-resistant logos to maintain a premium look.
Frame
A proven chromium molybdenum steel frame ensures straight-line stability at speed without sacrificing agility through the slow and technical sections. Optimized wall thickness throughout the chassis aids durability, in addition to providing unparalleled rider feedback and energy absorption. For an optimized level of anti-squat behavior and overall chassis balance, the shock is not directly connected to the main tube. The frame is complete with a premium white powder coating with frame protectors offering maximum grip in all conditions.
WP XACT-USD Front Forks
Designed and developed for the rigors of Enduro riding, the WP XACT Closed Cartridge springs forks offer consistent performance thanks to an innovative internal design that optimizes oil flow and prevents oil from foaming. The hydrostop, effective in the last 68 mm of travel, is highly advantageous when landing heavily as it helps to maintain forward momentum. Additionally, riders can alter the compression and rebound settings quickly and easily using the tool-free adjusters found at the top bottom of each fork leg.
WP XACT Rear Shock
The lightweight WP XACT rear shock offers 300 mm of travel. With the rebound and both high and low speed compression adjustable by hand, setting changes can be achieved quickly and easily without tools. Complete with a CFD optimized shock piston and low friction seals, consistent damping, comfort, and traction is guaranteed.
